MediViz's OR-Flow^TM solution facilitates management of the peri-operative suite on the day of surgery. It assists proactive decision making, effective implementation and follow-up of those decisions. 

OR-Flow^TM helps OR Coordinators and all the staff manage their OR day hour by hour using the following functions:
  Information collection from sources of information already available,  or, via OR-Flow^TM
    dedicated devices provide situational awareness for all staff concerned with case flow.
  Problem detection enhanced with “look forward” capability in a variety of decision support tools, 
    including the Coordinator Control Station, the Control Room, and the group-visible displays
    collectively called The Board.
  Problem evaluation driven through the Control Stations that graphically show coordinators
    upcoming problems and their severity.
  Problem resolution made easier and more effective through intuitive decision support tools,
    including mechanisms for follow-up to ensure decisions and orders have successfully been
    executed.

The OR-Flow™ product  (see demo) is comprised of:


 
  PITAs - dedicated easy-to-use data collection touch screen devices situated at all
    the points of care.
  Coordinator Control stations – the cornerstone of the system, providing decision support to the
    charge nurse of each surgical suite. 
  The Boards - location specific displays, dedicated to promoting situation awareness for OR staff.
    These include OR hallways, Preops, PACUS and web-enabled devices everywhere.
  Command Center – multiple large displays and Control Stations, centrally located, that enable
    collaborative management of many OR suites.
  Server – computer hosting the software engine that provides decision support tools
    to coordinators by collecting status updates from the PITAs and other information sources,
    and broadcasting the situation picture.

Integrated monitoring of interdependent resource flow axes, including patient flow, OR facility availability, the clinical staff, supplies, services, and equipment axes simultaneously.

Problem identification, assessment and resolution
Identifies problems that may impact the schedule by the following means: 
  Comparing progress of actual versus planned procedures.
  Detecting current and future resource conflicts.

The charge nurse uses the Coordinator Control Station display to assess problems using:
  Active schedule - a graphic view of the schedule that shows all relevant cases.
  Indicators – delays, overlap and other problems shown graphically, allowing
    quick assessment of the status and severity of problems in all cases.
  Drilling down – allowing retrieval of case specific details.

Decision support tools in the Control Station allow efficient problem resolution and broadcast of the results:
  Intuitive schedule changes with alerts for conflicts.
  Ownership of problem coordinator-specific, enabling attribution of responsibility for resolution and
    closure of problem.
