About
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
With roots in delivering health care in Los Angeles since 1902, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (CSMC) was formed in 1961 as a result of the merger between Mt. Sinai and Cedars of Lebanon hospitals in Los Angeles.
Quality patient care and dedication to patient satisfaction are of the highest priority at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Since 1987, Los Angeles area residents have named Cedars-Sinai the "Most Preferred Hospital for All Health Needs" in National Research Corporation's (NRC) annual Healthcare Market Guide survey.
In the 2007 U.S. News & World Report rankings, Cedars-Sinai made the "Best of the Best" Honor Roll, which comprises the top hospitals ranked highly in the most number of categories. Of the more than 5,000 U.S. hospitals, only 173 were ranked in at least one specialty, and of those 173, only 18 made the Honor Roll.
CSMC serves the greater Los Angeles area annually with over 275,000 patient days, 78,000 Emergency Department Visits, and 280,000 outpatient visits.  CSMC is an academic institution with over 350 residents and fellows participating in more than 60 graduate medical education programs.
