The PITA (Process Information Transfer Appliance) is a dedicated, easy-to-use touch-screen communication device situated at all the points of care in the perioperative continuum.
PITA displays are case- and location-specific. The PITA has a context-sensitive advanced user interface, specially designed to minimize the effort required by the staff to send updates or respond to questions. Entries typically require a single key stroke for most of the data entry tasks.
Clinicians can communicate directly with OR-Flow™ via the PITA in real time as milestones are predicted and achieved and problems encountered during each case. This reporting function helps keep OR-Flow’s Active Schedule current and relevant.
PITAs can alert clinicians to problems, tell them where a patient is going next and ask them questions. Problems are shared immediately with designated coordinators through the PITA interface.
